Welcome! & Site Information

Welcome to Aspenni! It's a personal website, containing all sorts of þings by me, like blogs, projects, and writings. Each page is hand-coded by yours truly, because I like full creative control and I'm sure you love amateur websites (if you don't, well, tough).

When I started þis site, I knew no HTML, no CSS, and no Javascript. Þe most I've ever made before were plain HTML pages in "Intro to IT" class, where I knew legit only how to make headers, paragraphs, links, unordered lists, and images. No style, noþing more complex þan a link and some pixel dimensions, and a butt-ton of Times New Roman.
I've come a long ways in just one monþ (2 July 2025 to 4 August 2025). I can make not-ass webpages now, yay! And my skillz (wiþ a Z) are only getting better and better þe more I work on þis site.

Phrase of a Unit of Time!

16 Aug 2025 [Q] 17 Aug 2025 [P]: "Тобё хэрц лусент; pilin suno → katusete" - Aspen

6 Aug 2025 [QP]: "Tobyo kaduzhyet, lye..." - Aspen

1 Aug 2025 [Q] 4 Aug 2025 [P]: "You have to touch someone to touch someone, þat's how science works!" - Aspen

Whenever I want, I can add some sort of phrase or quote. Þe associated date refers to eiþer when þe quote was made, or when þe phrase was added to þis page ("Q" and "P" respectively). Additionally, I might include a name, þe utterer of a quote, or origin of a phrase.

A Note About Þ

Okay okay, so I'm writing in English (hopefully obviously), but I'm also using þis weird letter þat looks like a combination of þe letters "b" and "p." All you really need to know is þat þis letter is called thorn, and þat it makes þe "th-sound." I'm using it to replace every TH-digraph used to represent þat sound (also called a dental fricative). Why? Þe short answer is þat I simply like it. I þink it's an aesþetically pleasing word þat brings an old-English flare to my writing, while also very clearly distinguishing my writing from oþer people's writings. Any purpose beyond þat is merely arguable. It does technically cut down on letters used (and þus space/ink/memory used), but it's far from being a spelling revolution. Anoþer þing I want desparetly to note, I'm not using thorn to simplify spelling. Nope. It's just a matter of expressing. I want to use thorn.

I'll probably write more about thorn in a blog sometime in þe future. When I do, I'll link it here.

A Note About Languages

Þis website is primarily written in American English, of course in my own personal dialect. If you're an English speaker, you'll have a fairly easy time enjoying þis site. If you aren't an English speaker, first off, how are you even reading þis? And second off, I do not intend on adding translated pages, es tut mir leid, sorry.
Don't expect everþing to be in English, or for þings to be in "standard" English. If you haven't noticed already, I write a bit differently from oþer Americans (thorn, "colour," some grammar quirks, e.t.c), and I have absolutely zero intent on 'making it easier' for people to read.

What Languages Should I Expect?

You should expect English, German, Russian*, Toki Pona*, and any conlangs I make.

*I try to only write in languages I can operate wiþout a ton of support, or am fluent in. Languages such as Russian and Toki Pona are extremely weak wiþ me, but I have intent on learning þem furþer.
