Welcome to Aspenni! It's a personal website, containing art, writings, blogs, e.t.c, all by me, Aspen S. H.. Each page is coded by hand by yours truly, because I like full creative control.
I am quite new to HTML and CSS, þough not new to programming as a whole. I started Apenni on 2 July 2025, and I actually had no knowledge of CSS and barely a conceptual grasp of HTML at þat time. Þis entire website is a learning project.
Why Aspenni?
I created Aspenni because I watched a YouTube video, Join the indie web! And how you can get started!, by Mish. I was always kinda unsatisfied wiþ þe constrictions given by social media about what and how you can post content. And wiþ YouTube being þe only social media I post on, I was limited to only videos. Don't get me wrong, I love making videos, I love posting to YouTube, but I'm a writer, and it's kinda hard to post writings in þe form of a video. Anoþer reason why Aspenni exists is to just kinda be a novel creation. Not only does it act as my "online presence," but it's also an art project in itself. I enjoy writing HTML, and I like þe idea þat I have my very own website.

Inspirational Sites
A Note About Þ
Þis letter, Þ, is called þorn, þough usually spelt "thorn" in common English. It represents þe "th-sound," which is also called þe dental-fricatives. Setting its history aside, I use Þ because I þink it looks very cool, and makes my writings standout amongst oþer works by oþer people. Yes, it makes it difficult to read if you're not used to it, but I simply don't care. People forget þat you can literally speak (and write) however you want. Language "rules" are just traditions. Be þankful I'm not using wynn. Þat ƿould look very ƿild, and get "p" "b" "ƿ" and "þ" confused.
Credit Due
Up in þe Inspirational Sites box, a site called angelnetcast.com is linked. Basically, I read þrough it's source code, and imitated þe box grid system to organize my site. Angel, þank you. I'll be sure to make þis place unique. I justed needed a temporary layout while I figure out þis webdesign þing.
